Brigyn Radio Cymru Mix Work

Brigyn have just asked me to mix 3 tracks for an upcoming Radio Cymru session which will be aired sometime in September. I haven't been sent any files from the band yet so it could be 100 gig of heavy glitch hop...

I will keep you updated whther this is the case or not.

Future Of The Left pre-production

I have just competed a 2 day pre-production session with Future Of The Left which took place at Musicbox Studios in Cardiff where we recorded 6 tracks for their few album which will be recorded later in the year. The session was pretty manic and involved two 16 hour days but we got it all down it all sounded wild. It's going to be a great new record!

Gentle Good Album Update

We have almost completed the recording of the new album! We probably need 1 or 2 more sessions to finish off some vocal work (Gospel Choirs can be hard work..) but it is mostly done! Some great performances have been captured and it's sure going to be fun to mix thing thing! Mixing shouldn't take too long and we are aiming to finish the record by end of September. We shall see...

Gallops EP Update

The self-titled debut EP from Gallops which I produced will be officially released on 23rd August 2010 through Holy Roar Records and Blood and Biscuits. Tracks from the record and in particular a track titled Miami Spider which closes the EP has been played a lot by Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, Nick Grimshaw and Rob da Bank and even made into the daytime Radio 1 playlists.

Miami Spider is now also being used as theme music for the comedy animation 'Ugly Americans' on the Five and Fiver TV channels in addition to being used by the moile phone company 02 to advertise a new tariff.

Al Lewis mix work & The Gentle Good 2nd album

Al lewis has asked me to mix 2 tracks for his forthcoming EP which will be a precursor to his debut album with Sarah Howells which I recorded at Musicbox. I'm unable to begin work on these mixes until the week after next as I'm moving back into Musicbox on Friday to begin work on the 2nd Gentle Good album.

We Know Mason - Album Mix Update

The first round of mixes have just been completed for the 2nd We Know Mason album. All album tracks have been sent over to the band for feedback and there hopefully won't be too many tweaks! The mixes came togther pretty quickly largely due to some great performances in the studio with good sounds. It makes it a whole lot easier to mix!

The Violas - Sesiwn C2 Radio Cymru

I've just had confirmed an C2 Radio Cymru session with Welsh band The Violas which will be taking place during the first week of May. They list The Velvet Underground and The Aliens amongst their influences so let's see what we come out with!

We Know Mason -2nd Album

I've just completed the recording of the 2nd We Know Mason album which took place at Musicbox. Recording went well and we got some stuff down. Mixing has already begun and we're aiming to have fully mastered versions by mid May.

The Gentle Good - New Album

Preperations are underway for the the recording of the follow up to The Gentle Good's debut album, While You Slept I Went Out Walking. The as yet untitled 2nd album promises to be richer, more atmospheric and experimental (without giving too much away..) than the previous offering but maintaining the characteristic Gentle Good sound.

New Gallops EP

Recording of the new Gallops Miami Spider EP has been completed and mixing is in it's final stages. The band combine glitchy electronica with innovative guitar work and live drums and recently toured with Born Ruffians (Warp Records). They were also asked to play the BBC Introducing Stage at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Swindon last year. We are currently looking at an April release date.

Right Hand Left Hand Remix

I have been asked by Right Hand Left Hand to remix a track for their new album which was produced by Charlie Francis and is forthcoming. The band have asked various other artists to remix an album track including Cian Ciaran from the Super Furry Animals, Martin Carr and Victorian English Gentlemens Club. All tracks will be remixed as part of a downloadable release.

New Camera Album

I'm in the initial stages of tweaking the Camera mixes for their new album which is hopefully going to get a release around May time. The initial track mixes went very well and it's now a case of fine tuning. I'll keep you posted!
